The latest induction class of the Sachem Athletic Hall of Fame will be honored on Saturday, December 3 at 10 a.m. The ceremony will take place in the Thomas J. Sabatelle Gymnasium at Sachem High School North.
This is one of the largest induction classes in Hall of Fame history and covers various sports and periods in Sachem history. This class also includes the most multi-sport athletes in one year.
“This is one of the very best moments in Sachem each year,” said Chris R. Vaccaro, President/Founder of the Sachem Alumni Association. “We can’t wait to honor these very deserving men and women who have made Sachem so proud. We have a large class because we are continuing to bridge the gap between the many years that Sachem did not host induction ceremonies.”
Sachem’s Athletic Hall of Fame had its inaugural induction in 2003 and did not have another event until 2016, when the Sachem Athletic Association kick-started the endeavor. Each winter, the Alumni Association honors the most deserving former athletes, coaches, and supporters for their dedication to Sachem athletics. A committee of former athletic directors and coaches helps nominate and select the inductees.
